Our Team

Educators who actually know
how each child learns.

A MegaStudy-certified director, a U.S.-educated operations partner, instructors with decades of experience teaching in Korea's most demanding neighborhoods, and a native English teacher with international credentials.

Mia Lee · 이유진

Director

Mia Lee · 이유진

Mia is a graduate of Ewha Womans University's Division of International Studies (Honors) with 11+ years of immersive experience in English education and curriculum development.

Mia has held lead roles across some of Korea's most respected English education institutions — instructor at English Egg's Native Center, English instructor at RISE Language Institute, Head of Curriculum Development Research at RISE, Head of Native Instruction at Badanamu Language Institute, lead instructor for Ministry of Education elementary English programs, business conversation instructor at Oasis, and talent development specialist at MegaStudy Education.

She currently serves as a MegaStudy MBest certified director and as the director of MBest SE Deokeun Hangang × Scranton English, where she designs individually tailored education that meets each student where they are.

What Mia considers most important: understanding each child's current level precisely, then designing the learning they actually need — not what a generic curriculum assumes they need. She is just as committed to students who feel confident in English as she is to students starting over from the beginning.

Brian Kim · 김민섭

Vice Director

Brian Kim · 김민섭

Brian studied Economics, Business, and Education at the University of San Francisco. At Scranton, he oversees academy operations, the student management system, and the design of individual learning paths.

Good education isn't built on great content alone. Equally important is the ongoing process of tracking each student's learning flow, reviewing lesson direction, and communicating with parents to quickly translate what a child needs into actual change.

Brian focuses on the systems and rhythms of the academy — ensuring that every student grows in a stable, attentive environment where their progress doesn't get lost.

Lala Lee · 이유경

Lead English Instructor

Lala Lee · 이유경

Lala is a graduate of Ewha Womans University's Division of International Studies, with a deep specialization in English education built across diverse teaching environments.

She began her career at Cambridge Language Academy, then spent roughly nine years running private one-on-one English instruction in Daechi-dong and Hannam-dong's UN Village. Her students range from young learners just beginning phonics to international school admits, foreign language high school admits, and successful study abroad placements — many of whom she has placed through to admission.

Beyond children's instruction, Lala has taught one-on-one conversational English to adults, training programs for prospective English instructors, and advanced business English to executives at Samsung and Hanwha.

At Scranton, she now leads personalized 1-on-1 style instruction — identifying each student's weak points in detail and drawing out their full potential. Her belief: students don't fail to learn English because they aren't smart enough. They fail because no one has taken the time to teach them in the way they actually understand.

Rea Choi · 최레아

Native English Instructor

Rea Choi · 최레아

Rea brings 12+ years of English teaching experience across the Philippines and Korea. She graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Elementary Education from Cebu Normal University and pursued a Master of Arts in English Language Teaching at the same institution.

Her career began at Cebu International School, where she taught as a native English instructor and pioneered presentation and public speaking training programs for business professionals. She then spent six years as a homeroom teacher at Guadalupe Elementary School under the Philippines Department of Education — where her first-grade students consistently achieved 100% proficiency in reading.

Most recently, she spent four years at Little Scholar Language Academy in Korea, where she taught phonics, purposive reading, and genre-based writing to learners from kindergarten through middle school.

Rea holds a TESOL Certificate jointly awarded by Yonsei University and California State University Long Beach, where she received the All Around Best Student Award. She also holds a Professional Teacher License from the Philippines Professional Regulation Commission, and has completed advanced training programs through the British Council and the Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers framework.

She speaks both English (native) and Korean, and is known for crafting lesson plans that fit each student's actual English level rather than the textbook's assumed level.
